Neighborhood Purpose Grants (2021-2022)

  • Seeds of Morning Glory NPG

In December 2021, we awarded Seeds of Morning Glory $2,595.13 for an outreach event for the unhoused in South Los Angeles and was a great success. It warmed our hearts to serve the people in the neighborhood where my family and I once resided. My two sisters Andrea and Tanya with God Silent Hands, and Magic of Painted Brain and I Seeds of Morning Glory, Inc. weathered the storm and completed our goal. The unhoused residents were happy to receive their resource guide, warm blankets, jackets, knitted hats, essential items packets (underwear, socks, deodorant, toothbrush, tooth paste, tissue packet, antibacterial wipes, mask, and feminine hygiene products), groceries, and a warm meal.

  • Project Peacemakers 2022

In March 2022, Voices Neighborhood Council funded $4,000 to Project Peacemakers to provide provide financial assistant to at least 15 clients within Voices NC boundaries, who enroll and complete either Anger Management or Domestic Violence classes.

This grant will primarily service a public purpose and benefit the public at-large by assisting clients in helping them become better persons for themselves, family and the community they reside or work. Therefore, the financial assistance need is crucial in helping them restore and rebuild their lives, so that they can be positive and active members of the community as role models to assist others who are suffering from the same type of issues that creates negativity, violence, graffiti and discord in our communities.
